Opening an Online Store

I really want to open an online store. A lot of people at my workplace tell me that I should be selling my handcrafted goods because they love them and think that the world will too (my shift has the sweetest people alive on it). One of my closest friends at work suggested I start making a portfolio of my work, which isn’t a bad idea!

Back in July of 2014 I opened my Etsy shop, just to have it and save my spot for when the time came for me to sell my items. At first my shop was named “Crihana Creative Arts” after my husband, but it felt waaaaay too formal to me. I changed it again to “Minuet Designs” because I am a musician and I wanted something to represent my love of music and creating things at the same time. Unfortunately, I heard a radio commercial in my city for a place called “Minuet Design” and that was too close for comfort to my name. So I changed it to “Maple Heart Crafts” and hopefully it will stay like that. Forever.

I started listing stuff in my Etsy shop last year and I sold absolutely nothing (haha). I’m not 100% sure what I’m doing wrong – maybe it’s because I only have three things listed up there – but I’m going to keep trying!

It’s extremely late here right now so I’m going to cut this blog post short. Do you guys have any tips and tricks for selling on Etsy? Please let me know in the comments below and, if you want to check it out, my store is here:

Thanks guys! I promise I’ll upload a better blog post later. 🙂
